difficult these days. They have to figure out a way to pay for all the billions of flood and hurricane claims and still remain competitive. Some companies have stopped operating in FL, while others have probably tried to raise all rates across the country. I doubt the government has any say in how these decisions are made other than trying to encourage the availability of insurance in FL.
CA also has a fire issue. Midwest...tornado. Deny climate change if you want, the expenses to the insurance companies are still there and have to be dealt with.
